Mercy Super has announced that Zurich Australia will be its new insurance partner from August 1.
Established in 1962, the superannuation advisory group holds more than $1.7 billion in funds under management and says that the deal with Zurich will provide its 13,000 members with comprehensive insurance offerings.
“Mercy Super has a long-standing tradition of providing its members with quality insurance cover that is fit-for-purpose for our membership community – supporting them in their time of need. We’re proud to be able to continue this tradition in our new insurance partnership with Zurich,” Mercy Super CEO Wendy Tancred said.
Mercy Super’s previous insurer partner was Hannover Life Re Australasia. The process of selecting a new partner was described as competitive, with several groups eyed for the deal.
Mercy Super named Zurich’s established global brand and innovation key factors in determining that it was the right collaborator for its members.
“We’re delighted to be given the opportunity to provide the members of Mercy Super with peace of mind via great value insurance,” Head of Group Insurance for Zurich Australia Darren Wickham said.
“We are passionate about members understanding and engaging with the fund about the cover they have, and we look forward to helping Mercy Super do this.”
