Some people are now afraid to cough or sneeze for fear of coronavirus stigmatization – Mr Fantastik reveals

Coronavirus pandemic continues to increase among affected persons and a lot of people either recover or die due to its effects.

Currently, in Ghana, coronavirus infections have increased and the latest city to be involved among the affected is Cape Coast.

The symptoms of the disease include coughing, sneezing, flu, fever, and headache.

Mr. Fantastik who is a Ghanaian artiste based in Canada has advised the public not to ridicule or stigmatize people who cough as Coronavirus patients.

Speaking in an interview with Amansan Krakye on Radio Central in Cape Coast, he said

“There are a lot of diseases that can make people cough and not only coronavirus, but that’s also why it’s advisable to use a face mask.

“The fact that u see some coughing does not necessarily mean the person is infected with the coronavirus.

“It might be as a result of pneumonia or the person is choked that’s why they cough, so let’s stop pointing fingers and stigmatizing them as Coronavirus patients.

“It’s important to take precaution but it’s only a research center that can pronounce someone as having the disease”

Mr. Fantastik who is also a native and resides in Cape Coast took the opportunity to advise the indigenes.

“Let’s not be afraid that the Coronavirus is finally here in Cape Coast. We should rather adhere to the precautionary measures and stay safe and healthy”.
