Popular Ghanaian actress Esi Forson who has a large fan base and is one of Ghana’s top comedians have castigated the people of Sekondi –Takoradi for not supporting their own.
According to Esi Forson, people in the entertainment industry in the Western region don’t support each other. She later juxtaposed it to the Kumahood industry which has created a niche for themselves with the “Twi” language as well as comedy. She encouraged entertainers in Takoradi to adopt a similar strategy which she believes will propel the industry to greater heights.

She also added that even though she’s based in Takoradi, almost all her fans are in Accra because people from Takoradi don’t support their own. She gave instances where she needed a restaurant for a scene but owners don’t want to rent out their places out. This according to her doesn’t happen in Accra.
